Doug Christy

Co-Founder, Business Coach

Serves as Lead Coach or Advisor Coach (Business)

Doug has over 40 years of experience in business leadership, ownership, and coaching. His 20 years at a major transportation company allowed him to advance to leadership positions in engineering, labor relations, operations, marketing, and profit management. Subsequently, he became President, CEO, and Executive Director, with ownership stakes in three companies. In 2007, he started his own business coaching firm to pursue his passion for helping others.

Before starting his coaching firm, he dealt with leadership issues and dysfunction in a business he co-owned, including issues with other owners’ family and friends. He personally orchestrated the sale to a competitor within 14 months, marking a stressful period in his personal and professional life. Realizing he could have benefited from a business coach, this experience led him to enter the profession to help others avoid similar mistakes and challenges.

Doug has coached hundreds of businesses over 15 years. Two of those clients – Hilary and Rebecca – are now part of the AccuVision team. Trained by the Professional Business Coaches Alliance, he was named Coach of the Year in his second year and achieved their highest coaching level, Black Belt. He also led the Master Coach Academy, training other business coaches in advanced processes. Doug holds certifications in various areas including marketing, sales, financial management, behavioral analysis, family advising, and business valuation.

Doug's past coaching firm specialized in helping family businesses transition. His model always included a personal coach/counselor to understand and advise the dynamics of family or closely held businesses. Doug serves as the Lead Coach when a family business needs to transition, which is the third phase for AccuVision clients. His old firm’s model that Hilary experienced as a client for six years was the inspiration for her passion for holistic, team business coaching. Therefore Doug’s leadership skills and business and coaching experience are crucial to AccuVision’s clients through all three phases - crisis, growth, and transition.

  • Doug has been an essential part of my leadership journey. He has helped refine my decision-making in our strategic planning, business processes and people-related issues. And he has served as a meaningful sounding board as I have explored high-risk decisions. He has helped so many people accomplish substantial results and I count myself lucky to be one of them.

  • Personally, I cannot begin to thank him enough for hanging in there with me and putting up with all my shit. There have only been a handful of people in my life that cared enough and had the patience to see the potential through all the baggage. I count Coach Doug as one of the best friends I ever had.

  • Coach Doug is one of the most inspiring and insightful individuals I’ve ever met. He has a gift that enables him to see beyond the obstacles which seemed to block our path to new possibilities and potential. He walked with us through that discovery and the actions needed to experience the desired results.
