Hilary Porter
Co-Founder, Business Coach
Serves as Lead Coach or Advisor Coach (Business)
Hilary founded AccuVision Business Coaching based on her extensive education, business, coaching, and life experience. Hilary has the most ‘hands on experience’ of anyone on the team running the day-to-day operation of a business. With over a decade of experience in Omaha's largest residential window cleaning business, she served over 8000 customers and worked in every key business role, including door-to-door sales, cleaning windows and gutters, and general manager. During this time, she also served as the main point of contact for the who’s who of Omaha, including Fortune 500 executives, governors and senators, and celebrities. Despite 70-hour workweeks and limited family time, Hilary ultimately rose to co-own and lead the business, earning the 'Best of Omaha’ award for the company for 4 years in a row under her leadership. Her journey through the challenges of running, and exiting, a family business inspired her to co-found AccuVision Business Coaching.
Hilary received weekly coaching from Doug’s firm for six years, gaining extensive experience from a client's perspective that most people entering the coaching profession never receive. Coached through every major business process during this time, her dedication of never missing a session or assignment helped refine many of Doug's business processes into ‘best practices’, now used at AccuVision. Her commitment, dedication and belief in coaching led to a profitable and growing business. To gain experience from the other side of the coaching relationship, she also has served as the lead business coach for the Town of Sahuarita, with over 200 hours of coaching in the last two years, guiding numerous family businesses through ideation, start-up, and growth phases.
Although Hilary has accumulated significant experience in business coaching over the past decade from both sides of the relationship, what sets her apart is her experience from the emotional perspective. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with emphasis in counseling from a university that prided itself in holistic education. She has undergone extensive personal counseling since her teenage years. Throughout her personal, business, and coaching journey, she has faced challenges such as eating disorders, depression and family issues. Despite these incredible obstacles, she managed to serve a list of over 8000 customers each and every week. Doug’s coaching philosophy of addressing both business and personal issues not only helped her through these times but was the inspiration for her current holistic coaching model. This expanded and refined coaching process is now used to support AccuVision’s clients with similar emotional, business, and family challenges. It’s why adding Rebecca's expertise and experience in the Wellness Integration Coach role has been so vital to being able to serve our clients in each of the three phases.
Hilary serves as Lead Coach, depending upon the specific client, but her business experience makes her an excellent Advisor Coach. She truly has walked in her client’s shoes and passes that personal and business experience directly to them. She also is empathetic to the emotional issues her clients experience working within a family business daily, even if they are not in crisis. She draws on all of her varied experience to come alongside clients through each phase - crisis, growth, and transition - and she knows that her passion for holistic business coaching is essential for the clients she is meant to serve.
